Reviews Depressing Poorly recorded and produced this is not a relaxing album by any means just pure depression that will have you reaching for the nearest cousnellors telephone number. Avoid. 2009-01-06 my dad says ok my dad says nice cd hes 88 but he didnt recognise all the songs he rated it as 4 stars cool ok 2009-01-01 Mixed feelings.... As a Salvationist myself I expected more 'Army'music, something a little more 'up beat'. However, I think its a great CD for getting our profile raised, and of course raising the much needed cash to keep doing what we do. It s a good Cd to relax too, and is music most people will relate too. It certainly helped in the car whilst stuck in traffic, trying not to get mad at the person who cut me up! Well done ISB! 2008-12-08 Right up the middle As an ex RAF Bandsman and having shared many Sundays in Bedford and Skegness my impression is that this record is right up the middle. Nothing to write home about but then does give warm memories and a longing for more. As a school teacher would say: Great potential, work harder and be focused. E Hall Dublin Ireland 2008-12-07 A good move by the Salvation Army Hhhmmm - a few negative reviews because this is 1) not completely Christian music or 2) moves away from the tradition of Salvation Army bands and band music or 3) not up to the standard of Army bands and the Staff band specifically. I'm afraid I can't agree - this is excellent and exactly what the Army should be doing, reaching out to people with something a bit more accessible. Reaching out and providing help and support is the heritage of the Army, after all "Heart to God and hand to man". Over the last few years the Army and the work it does has become less and less visible, to the point where most people under 30 have no idea who or what the Salvation Army is. As a result this CD is just the sort of marketing the Army needs to remind people of its mission, its focus, its value to the community, while providing an uplifting and relaxing musical experience. Getting into the top 25 on the Amazon best sellers list is a commendable achievement and may there be many more like this in the future ! 2008-12-03 |
